What this site is and is not

This site is educational. It exists to explain how slot machine mathematics works, using simulations, so that people can understand what a payback percentage does and does not mean.

It is not

The simulations are simulations

Every spin outcome on this site comes from a random number generator running representative paytables written for demonstration. They are not the mathematics of any real game, manufacturer or property, and no real machine's behaviour can be inferred from them. Results shown are illustrative and will differ every time you run them.

Nothing here will help you win. Every machine described on this site is designed to return less than it takes, and the sections that look most like a strategy are there to demonstrate that no strategy exists.

Third-party links

Where this site links to casino operators, regulators or reference sources, those sites are not under our control. We do not endorse them and are not responsible for their content, their accuracy, their privacy practices or anything that happens to you there. Links to operators are provided as directory information only.

We receive no compensation from any operator.
No casino, operator or gaming company pays this site anything — no commission, no referral fee, no advertising, no comped play, no arrangement of any kind. Nothing is listed here because someone paid for it to be, and nothing is left out because someone did not.

Directory links go to a web search, to Wikipedia, or to a map. None of them carry a referral code or tracking parameter. If that ever changes, this page will say so and the disclosure will appear beside the affected links, not only here.
02

Accuracy of the figures

Payback percentages shown for real venues are taken from figures published by gaming regulators. Nevada figures come from the State Gaming Control Board, which reports by geographic area rather than by individual property. Connecticut figures come from the state, which receives them under the tribal-state compacts.

Three limits on those numbers, stated plainly because the site would be misleading without them:

Bet configurations and credit ladders shown are representative examples, not sourced from any operator. Casino directory entries are compiled from public sources and go out of date as properties open, close and rebrand.

We make no warranty that any figure on this site is current, complete or correct, and accept no liability for decisions made in reliance on it.

03

Age and eligibility

This site is intended for adults and is not directed at children. It collects nothing from anyone, of any age, which is covered in the privacy notice below.

Gambling age minimums vary. Most US jurisdictions set 21 for casino gambling; some tribal and charitable venues set 18. Nothing on this site should be taken as permission to gamble anywhere, at any age, and the legality of gambling where you live is your responsibility to establish.

There is no age check on this site, and that is deliberate.
An age gate makes sense on a page that sells gambling. This one argues against it. Putting a barrier in front of material explaining why slot machines cannot be beaten would keep it from exactly the people most likely to benefit from reading it.

That said: nothing here is permission to gamble. Casino minimums are 21 in most US jurisdictions and 18 in some tribal and charitable venues, and whether gambling is legal where you live is yours to establish.

Privacy notice

Who is responsible. Dad Who Games, operator of dadwhogames.com. Contact info@dadwhogames.com. Under GDPR terminology this is the data controller. This is a personal, non-commercial site with no business premises, so correspondence is by email.

This site collects nothing about you.
No account system, no forms, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking of any kind. Every session you run, every venue you select and every bet you set happens entirely inside your browser and is discarded the moment you close the tab. None of it is transmitted anywhere, and none of it is seen by us.

The only thing that can be stored on your device is a record of your cookie choice, and only if you make one.

What is processed anyway

DataWhyBasisKept
Server access logs (IP address, time, page, user agent) Serving the page and protecting against abuse Legitimate interests About 30 days, then rotated by the host
Your cookie choice Not asking you again on every page Strictly necessary 180 days
IP address sent to Google's font service Loading the typefaces the pages are set in Legitimate interests — see the note below Google's retention, not ours
One exception, stated plainly: web fonts.
These pages load their typefaces from Google's font service. That means your browser contacts Google's servers when a page loads, and your IP address reaches Google as part of that request, before you have agreed to anything. We receive nothing from it and it is not used to identify you here, but it is a third party seeing a visit, and this notice would be incomplete without saying so.

We are moving the font files onto this server to remove that contact entirely. Until that is done, the statement above holds for everything except the fonts.

Your rights

Depending on where you live you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port or restrict processing of your personal data, to object to processing, and to complain to a supervisory authority. Californians additionally have rights to know, delete, correct and to opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information, and there is no such thing as a targeted advertising profile of you here.

To exercise any right, contact info@dadwhogames.com. In practice, because we hold almost nothing about you, most requests can be answered by pointing at this page. If we cannot identify you in our records we will say so rather than ask you for more data in order to find you.

Global Privacy Control is honoured. If your browser sends that signal, every optional category is switched off before you arrive and you are not asked again.

Cookies and storage

A cookie banner is only required for storage that is not strictly necessary. As built, this site has none, so no banner is shown. The consent system is in place so that it behaves correctly the moment that changes.

Terms of use

By using this site you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, stop using it.

Permitted use

You may read, use and share this site for personal, educational and non-commercial purposes. You may not scrape it at a rate that degrades service, present it as your own, or use it to promote gambling products.

No warranty

The site is provided as is and as available, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from use of this site, including gambling losses, lost profits or consequential damages. Nothing excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this may not apply to you. Consumer protection law in the EU and UK limits how far a site can disclaim liability to consumers regardless of what its terms say.

Intellectual property

Casino directory data derived from Wikipedia is used under CC BY-SA 4.0 and carries that licence with it, which means derivative datasets must be shared alike and attributed. Regulator statistics are government-published facts. Operator names and marks belong to their owners and appear here descriptively, not as endorsement.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, and by applicable US federal law. The state and federal courts located in Texas have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, without affecting any mandatory consumer rights in your place of residence.

Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be reflected in the date at the top of this page. Continued use after a change means acceptance.

07

Responsible gambling

Gambling is entertainment with a price. Every game described on this site returns less than it takes, over time, by design. That is not a flaw in the machine and no amount of skill, timing or bankroll management reverses it.

Signs worth taking seriously

Where to get help

United States. The National Problem Gambling Helpline is free, confidential and available 24/7: call or text 1-800-GAMBLER (1-800-426-2537), or chat at 1800gamblerchat.org.

Elsewhere. Search for your national gambling helpline, or contact Gamblers Anonymous at gamblersanonymous.org.

Self-exclusion. Most US states and tribal gaming authorities run voluntary self-exclusion programmes that bar you from casinos in that jurisdiction. Contact your state gaming board or the tribal gaming commission for the property.

If you are in crisis, or thinking about harming yourself, do not wait for a gambling helpline. In the US, call or text 988 for the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, any time.

We are not clinicians and this page is not a substitute for professional support.
